In short, the Melitta #4 do not filter out 1/2 as much impurities and sediment from coffee made in a French press as the regular accordion like sided paper filters used in drip coffee machines.I use a French press to make my coffee and had been filtering my coffee of any sediment and impurities by pouring my finished coffee through a regular accordion-like paper drip coffee maker filter which I place in a glass cone shaped funnel which sits on top of a glass pot. The problem has been that was the opening at the bottom of the glass funnel is so wide, the filter sometimes sank too far through it unless I held it in place. So I bought these cone shaped Melitta #4 filters with the intent to use them instead. And yes, they’re the perfect size for the glass funnel. But there was a HUGE difference in what did not get filtered using the Melitta.The drip coffee filters I used before always took a lot longer for my French Press coffee to drip through but they collected A LOT of sediment from the coffee (note: I used filtered water so this sediment is from the ground coffee itself); but when I poured the coffee through the Melitta #4 filters, it poured through very quickly and didn’t catch anywhere near as much sediment.So now I’m having to use two filters: the Melitta #4 because it fits best in the glass cone shaped funnel, and then the regular drip coffee paper filters placed inside of the Melitta filter because it filters out so much more.

Perfect size

Could have saved much more if I bought it from BJ’s. It arrived wrapped in the original cellophane, the lack of packing is a good thing I guess. The filters work like they are supposed to.

I've had this Melitta coffee maker for many years and it continues to serve me quite well. When my local grocery store no longer carried these filters, I turned to Amazon. The ordering process was easy and was delivered on time and accurate.

I really like the natural brown Melitta $4 coffee filters. I've ordered previously and I was about to run out!
